Louisiana Loyal means being there for our state, always, but especially in times of need.  Several of our agent partners and their policyholders were greatly impacted by Hurricane Laura.  LWCC is pleased to be able to support the Lake Charles community in a variety of ways.

On-Site Internet Access

Communication remains key to recovery but is often hindered when disaster strikes.  The Safety Services team has made their mobile trailer available in Lake Charles.  With satellite internet access, this vehicle offers WiFi access to those without it.

WiFi Hotspot Assistance

For those unable to access the trailer, LWCC encourages individuals to utilize their smartphone as a WiFi hotspot.  If you are not familiar with this feature, LWCC’s IT team put together this step by step video of how to get access.  This feature can be used as long as an internet signal is available.

Generator and Candle Safety

Our Safety Services team is constantly evaluating best practices to keep businesses and workers safe.  Disaster recovery brings new threats to safety.  Two of these threats are generators and candles.  While essential during these times and extremely beneficial, generators can cause injury and even death if not used properly.  If used in correctly, candles can cause further destruction.  See the team’s generator and candle safety tips for more on how to use these tools properly.

Share a Meal

Across the world, and especially in Louisiana, we serve others and connect through food.  LWCC employees have been in the region preparing a “home cooked” meal to anyone impacted and working to recover.  We hope that taking a few minutes to share a meal provided a brief moment of relief.

Emergency Rule 45

This week the Department of Insurance issued Emergency Rule 45 in response to Hurricane Laura to protect policyholders in the impacted regions from losing necessary coverage while focused on recovery efforts.  Our Policyholder Services team is making the appropriate adjustments at this time.  If you have any questions about your policy as it relates to this ruling, please reach out to us.
