New Business Submission Guide for Agents
New business submissions are a vital part of our partnership in elevating Louisiana. We want our agent partners to be successful, profitably growing your book of business with LWCC. Using this New Business Submission Guide will provide the best opportunity for winning new business for your agency and fostering great relationships with your Underwriters.
Pre-Submission
- Complete ACORD 130 Application
- Build the company narrative and description of operations
- Request loss runs
- Request NCCI E-Mod (if company qualifies and is rated)
When can I submit an application?
LWCC accepts submissions 120 days prior to the effective date. When starting an application in CompZone+ it will only provide options to choose an effective date within the available timeframe.
How can I submit a new application?
LWCC accepts new business submissions through its online portal, CompZone+. CompZone+ provides an easy and efficient way for agents to submit new applications, communicate with the assigned underwriter, receive quotes, and bind to issue new policies. If you need access to CompZone+, you can ask your agency principal, complete this form and email to information@lwcc.com.”
What do I need to submit in order to get a quote?
Required Information
At a minimum, the following information is needed to for LWCC to provide a quote.
- Completed ACORD 130 application, including description of operations in the “Nature of Business” field
- Answers for the risk-specific supplemental class code questions
- Loss runs for the previous 5 years, valued no later than 120 days prior to the date of submission
- Details for any losses greater than $10,000 incurred
- Summary of premiums paid and losses incurred for the most recent 5 years
- Currently valued NCCI Experience Modifier Worksheet (if applicable)
Supplemental Information
Additionally, supplemental information may be provided that will enable us to further understand any unique or non-standard aspects of the risk you’re seeking coverage for. This information is not required, but can be valuable in ensuring the most appropriate pricing for the submission, and you might already be providing it to carriers for other lines of coverage.
Detailed company narrative that can include:
- Company history
- Description of work performed and typical customer
- Photos of company premises and/or samples of job sites
Company brochures or flyers
Information about safety policies and procedures:
- Safety manual(s)
- Evidence of safety meetings/education
- Inspection reports relevant to premises or worker safety, and any pertinent actions taken
Any other supplemental information that would help your underwriter what the applicant does and how they might be differentiated from others in their industry.
