Virtual Driver Simulator
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, roadway transportation incidents account for more fatal workplace fatalities each year than any other cause. Employees who drive vehicles in the course and scope of employment should receive proper training to avoid potential hazards.
LWCC’s interactive virtual driver simulation tool allows employees to experience actual behind the wheel situations without being on the road.
Trainees navigate real-life driving experiences using a steering wheel as well as foot pedals for the brake and the gas. Think of it as a modern-day defensive driver’s course that can be delivered to an LWCC policyholder’s place of business in a controlled setting without putting employees at risk. The computer provides a feedback report noting any errors made during the driving exercise. This information will assist the student and employer by identifying weaknesses or habits in driving behavior.
As with all of LWCC’s safety services, the driving simulator will be provided to policyholders free of charge. However, availability is limited. LWCC policyholders wishing to preview or use the driving simulator should contact their LWCC safety services consultant.
