LWCC has received calls from agents on behalf of policyholders who are wanting to travel and perform work in Florida in response to Hurricane Ian. We’ve compiled this FAQ page to offer guidance on some of these questions.
If a policyholder is a Louisiana business with Louisiana employees traveling to do work in Florida, do they remain covered?
Florida has specific rules regarding out-of-state contractors. You can find information regarding these rules on the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation website or the Out-of-State Contractors brochure for coverage and compliance requirements.
Policyholders are advised to review their policy with their agent regarding other state’s coverage or endorsements that may affect their coverage.
For specific advice we recommend working with a licensed Florida insurance agent to help navigate these rules and coverage requirements.

Given the limitations for out-of-state contractors in Florida, it’s best to contact a licensed Florida agent to obtain the proper coverage.
