Initiative Recap

In early December, over 40 LWCC employees came together to support seven families through the Angel Tree program, ensuring a more memorable holiday season for those affected by a workplace injury. Employees participated in a variety of ways, including purchasing gifts, donating funds, and serving as program ambassadors. Their collective efforts provided much-needed holiday cheer and comfort to families facing difficult circumstances, exemplifying the spirit of giving and community.

“Being part of Angel Tree is truly humbling, as it brings employees from across LWCC together in such a meaningful way,” says Becky Harris, Claims Account Specialist. “Seeing everyone come together—whether it’s giving their time to select gifts or delivering them to families—shows just how much we care for injured workers and their loved ones during the holidays."

Bringing Purpose to the Season

LWCC’s purpose is to help Louisiana thrive, and the Angel Tree program is one way employees live out that purpose. By working together to make the holidays more joyful for those facing hardship, employees capture the true meaning of the holiday season and create meaningful connections with the families of injured workers. It is a reminder of how our work goes beyond workers’ comp coverage to providing hope and comfort to those we serve.

A Cherished Tradition

For over 20 years, the Angel Tree program has been a cherished tradition at LWCC, aligning with the company’s mission to better Louisiana, one business and one worker at a time.

“I've had the privilege of being part of the Angel Tree program since early on, and it's been incredibly rewarding to see how it has grown over the years,” says Paul Buffone, SVP, Chief Claims Officer. “The unwavering support from our team makes this program not only meaningful, but also deeply fulfilling, reminding us all of the power of community and the importance of coming together to help those facing tough times."

Through this initiative, LWCC has supported over 100 families, emphasizing its commitment to both the professional and personal well-being of injured workers and their families. The program extends LWCC’s efforts to provide care and rehabilitation to injured workers and exemplifies the emotional and community support that makes a real difference in their lives.
