Baton Rouge, Louisiana (April 4,2022) - LWCC’s board of directors has approved a $102 million dividend for 2021 that will be payable to approximately 20,000 Louisiana businesses and impact over 167,000 workers.
“LWCC has been Louisiana Loyal since opening our doors in 1992. As we commemorate our 30th year of operation, we are proud of the work we have done, together with our agent partners, to celebrate and elevate Louisiana through both our core business functions and innovative new initiatives,” said Kristin W. Wall, LWCC’s President and CEO. “The dividend program has allowed us to put over $1.1 billion back in the hands of Louisiana businesses, allowing them to invest in their company and employees, therefore elevating our great state.”
Over the last 19 years, LWCC has declared $1.13 billion in dividends. A study completed by Dr. James Richardson, Alumni Professor of Economics and Public Administration at LSU, showcases the significant economic impact of the dividend program. Through 2021, it is estimated that the dividend program has supported 17,840 jobs across Louisiana. The 2021 dividend alone is anticipated to support 1,683 jobs.
As a mutual insurer, LWCC policyholders have access to benefits, including sharing in the financial success of the company through a dividend distribution, along with other resources and services. The dividend program is made possible by the sound counsel of our agent partners, our employees’ dedication to excellence in execution, policyholders’ continued commitment to safety and wellness, a strategic risk and investment approach, and guiding principles that keep us focused on planning and preparing for the unexpected. Through our dividend program the company has been able to support Louisiana businesses since 2003.
In addition to dividends, average rates have decreased by 62.9% since LWCC’s inception which has been driven by a focus on safety, and a lower frequency of accidents and injuries in the workplace.
All payments are scheduled to be mailed on or before April 13, 2022.
