LWCC’s Louisiana Loyal Service Project Provides 24,000 Meals for Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank

WRITTEN BY

BATON ROUGE, La (October 16, 2024) – LWCC, Louisiana's largest workers' compensation carrier, is proud to share the success of its fourth annual Louisiana Loyal Service Project. This year, LWCC employees and agent partners came together to contribute more than 200 volunteer hours to support the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

Over the course of a week, volunteers prepped over 900 food boxes, equating to roughly 24,667 meals that will directly benefit families in need across the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank’s 11-parish service area. These efforts are part of LWCC's ongoing Louisiana Loyal movement, dedicated to celebrating and elevating Louisiana. Hunger is an acute issue in the state disproportionately affecting children and seniors. One in seven people in Louisiana struggle with food insecurity.

"LWCC’s purpose is to help Louisiana thrive, and we believe volunteerism is a powerful way to activate that purpose,” said Seth Irby, LWCC, SVP, Chief Strategy Officer. “Small actions that we can take together add up to meaningful change. The Louisiana Loyal Service Project is how we model corporate volunteerism, and our hope is that other businesses across the state feel inspired to use their resources and time for the betterment of their community.”

In addition to the volunteer efforts, LWCC made a donation of $5,000 to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. This donation will enhance the Food Bank’s capacity to provide critical services to those facing food insecurity across southeast Louisiana.

The Louisiana Loyal Service Project began in 2020 as an internal initiative to bring employees together to capitalize on the company’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO) incentive. Since then, the program has evolved into a larger, collaborative effort that engages various stakeholders to expand the program’s reach and impact. By fostering a culture of service, LWCC continues to strengthen its vision to be a catalyst elevating Louisiana’s position in America.
