The LWCC Foundation: Inspiring and Creating Transformational Change
As a long-time champion of Louisiana, LWCC began an initiative in 2019 to address safety in Louisiana schools. We were subsequently inspired to form a larger organization, the LWCC Foundation, to scale Safe Schools and support a variety of programs, all dedicated to elevating Louisiana. At the onset of the pandemic, LWCC recognized the need for immediate action to support Louisiana, and shifted its focus to distributing grants and gifts to help fight COVID-19.
The LWCC Foundation is working to fulfill its mission to make Louisiana home to the healthiest and safest workforce in America. We have launched a three-phase, $1.1 million grants package - Louisiana Well Again: COVID-19 Response Package. Our goal is to directly support Louisiana as it responds to and recovers from the impact of COVID-19, and to build future resiliency for all Louisiana workers.
- Phase 1 provides for Louisiana’s hardest hit citizens. We donated $100,000 to Feeding Louisiana, an organization that oversees five regional food banks. We estimate that our gift will provide up to 400,000 meals statewide.
- Phase 2 is a $500,000 grants program that will help hospitals across the state support the work of COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers.
- Phase 3 is a $500,000 grants program to fund initiatives focused on improving the health, wellness, and safety of Louisiana workers in the wake of the COVID-19 peak. These initiatives will implement long-term solutions targeting long-existing vulnerabilities in Louisiana workers.
We are seeking grant applicants for phase 2 of the Louisiana Well Again: COVID-19 Response Package through May 15. To learn more about the phase 2 grants and how to apply, please click here. Phase 3 of the program will begin once there is greater clarity on the impacts of COVID-19 on Louisiana’s workforce.
Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic will not be easy, and it will take all of us working together, but we believe Louisiana will come out stronger than ever.
